Welcome to the Christleton Blog. This is the best place to check what is happening as I tend to mention here any new items or features to the website as and when they happen and give a link to where you will find them. But I would encourage you to click around the site and explore. You are currently in the main part and you will find links to two other main sections. The Christleton War Voices which has an immense amount of information about Christleton in World War I. The other is Christleton 3 which is rich in photographs and includes two regular monthly features. Wildlife Watch and The History File. Enjoy.

Rev Canon Lionel Garnett

Lionel Garnett is featured in the March History File

If you live in Christleton you must have walked along Pepper Street countless times and seen the memorial to Lionel Garnett. If you have enjoyed any of the many services held in front of the church on the grassed area you will have had the opportunity of a closer look at the memorial and read the inscription 'Lionel Garnett Rector of this Parish 1869 to 1911. You might have thought, Wow he was here for quite a few years! Or even thought of what Christleton must have been like during this period that spanned the reigns of Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V. So to add some interest or something to think about the next time you see the memorial to Lionel Garnett I suggest you take a look at the March 2018 edition of The History File by David Cummings.
