Welcome to the Christleton Blog. This is the best place to check what is happening as I tend to mention here any new items or features to the website as and when they happen and give a link to where you will find them. But I would encourage you to click around the site and explore. You are currently in the main part and you will find links to two other main sections. The Christleton War Voices which has an immense amount of information about Christleton in World War I. The other is Christleton 3 which is rich in photographs and includes two regular monthly features. Wildlife Watch and The History File. Enjoy.

Proposed Law College Development

Residents need to galvanise themselves into action

I was one of about 15 Christleton residents who attended the Parish Council meeting at the Methodist Hall on the evening of 6th November. Councillor Luke Henley gave us a clear and concise overview of the new planning application that has been made to develop Christleton Hall and the Law College site in Pepper Street. You will remember that this application was turned down by Chester City councillors by a vote of 10 to 1 in April this year. It appears that a new application has been made because of a a change to National Planning Policy as regards to greenbelt. Luke answered an interesting range of questions posed by the residents. It was evident, however, that I was one of the very few people to get a letter from Cheshire West & Chester Council so it was decided that the Parish Council would do a leaflet drop in the village making everyone aware of this impending threat to our neighbourhood. It was also suggested that our MP Chis Matheson should be asked to assist us yet again. You might remember the very well attended meeting at Christleton High School on 29th September 2017 to discuss the very same subject. Well the very same problem is back on our doorstep and the village needs to galvanise itself into action to repel this organised attack on our village. Instead of grabbing the pitchfork you keep near the front door just go onto the Cheshire West and Chester website and make your feelings known in the Comments section. Be warned it is not the friendliest of websites. If you start to look at all the documents you will need a lot of time and your computer might revolt. You may need to wait to download some of the PDF files and I found that in some instances I had to reload some pages as they became stuck. Just think of it as intimidation trick to put you off commenting and that will make you even more angry. If you have forgotten your login details you may need to register again. This is a simple process. The Council also accept written letters.
