The Good Friday procession from Littleton to St James’ Church across the fields took place again this year, led by Lucius the donkey and his owners Doug & Meriel Cashin.
The event began with prayers said by the Rector, Rev Malcolm Cowan at Peral Lane, and followed the Littleton footpath through to Christleton, stopping for prayers and bible readings at set positions on route. The weather was glorious with signs of spring in the hedgerows and all around. As the procession reached the churchyard, parishioners came out to watch, collected their palms from Lucius’ saddle bags, and after final prayers were said, and saying farewell to Lucius, the congregation entered church for the traditional Holy Communion Service.
