The procession gathered around the Village Green and at 1.30pm Jessica Mills our delightful Rose Queen, Flower Girls and Page Boys led the procession of young & old through the village including Alex Sturgess the retiring Rose Queen & her retinue, fancy dress competitors, the uniformed organisations and the Play Group. They were headed by the Wirral Pipe Band in really hot challenging conditions, surely one of the hottest fete days ever. The stalls on the field were wide ranging, with lots of things to do and enjoy, from Messy Church, Golf led by Eaton Golf Club members, rugby skills by the Christleton Rugby Club, drama lessons by Diddy Drama etc. These were supported by lots of demonstrations, games, activities and food & drink stalls. The Pit Group had pond insects to look at, and the Village Show members promoted their 2018 Show.

Following the Crowning of the Rose Queen by Cllr. Pauline Pratt Chairman of Christleton Parish Council, Jessica made an excellent opening speech thanking the Fete Committee led by Dawn Sturgess for organising the fete and all their hard work, the Headteacher Oliver Mitchell & Governors of the Primary School for the use of the field, stall holders and everyone present for their support.

There was an excellent raffle, and the compere for the afternoon was David Cummings.

The programme of events in the arena were:
