This pages provides a link to St.James' Church, Christleton which now has its own website. Here you will find a selection of Parish Magazines from years past as well as a Church Guide and an illustrated page featuring the amazing stained glass windows.
There is a page on this site that has inks to many years of St. James' Parish Magazine. It was was back in 1997 that I suggested to the then Rector of Christleton, Reverend Peter Lee that the Parfish Magazine perhaps could benefit from some desktop publishing. In previous years there had been monthly meetings at the Old Rectory, the home of the magazine editor, David Bull, for a cut and paste night. I was given the go ahead and managed to secure a job that lasted for 12 years. David Bull was the editor for that whole time and the magazine was put together on an Apple Mac ready for the printer. I had to give up the job eventually as it was such a big tie. The position was advertised for many months but no one came forward. I was carrying on in the interim and then had the brilliant idea that Jukie Coxall who owned the A41 Magazine might take the job on. It was not the tea and cake that bribed her to take the job on as I remember her saying she would like to do it as a thank you and to give village of Christleton.
There are plans to re-order the inside of the church to increase flexibility of use, and to build an extension with toilets, a kitchen and storage. If you are interested in the future of this church in this community then please come, see, and offer your views and suggestions. (Refreshments provided.)
