The Shropshire Union Canal which passes through the village of Christleton is most popular with residents and visitors alike. It provides a quiet highway in which to walk as well as sail. An enjoyable route right to the centre of the City of Chester whilst in the other direction it meanders into the Cheshire countryside after passing through the neighbouring village pf Waverton. A haven for wildlife and always another place to see the Christleton swans when they are not on the Pit.
